Scorpions prefer warm, dry habitats, hiding in burrows or debris, under wood or stones. They also live inside homes, in cracks and crevices, behind baseboards, and inside walls, getting in through poorly sealed windows and doors. They hunt at night and use their venom to paralyze or kill their prey, which includes insects, spiders, etc. It takes one to six years for a scorpion to mature.
