Occasional Invaders

Occasional invaders—various beetles, centipedes and millipedes, earwigs, silverfish, chiggers and others—sometimes invade structures in large numbers and become an annoying nuisance. Some can bite, pinch, secrete foul odors, damage plants, and stain or damage furnishings. Once dead, their bodies can attract other pests that feed on them, while their secretions, excretions and other detritus can cause allergic responses or trigger asthma.
